You didn't fail. You started at step five.

Almost everyone begins the same way: a video, a burst of motivation, reality checks on day one. Then three nights pass with no dream to check against, the motivation drains, and the conclusion lands — it doesn't work on me.

It isn't you, and it usually isn't the technique. It's the order. Reality checks can't work while you still don't remember your dreams — you have nothing to notice. Recall comes first. Almost every beginner skips it.

In the largest published induction study, 1,618 people volunteered. 355 made it through two weeks. The hardest part of lucid dreaming was never the technique — it's staying with it.

Adventure-Heart (formerly Aspy), 2020 — International Lucid Dream Induction Study

Five minutes a day, in the right order

Remember

Before anything else, you train recall. A 60-second morning entry — even just a feeling or a fragment. This is the one habit everything else is built on.

Notice

Once you have dreams on the page, your own patterns surface — the places, people and impossibilities that keep coming back. Those are your dream signs: the things your mind already flags as strange, if you're paying attention.

Wake up inside

Now the techniques have something to work with. MILD, WBTB and SSILD — in sequence, and with the timing right. Timing matters more than most people realise: in one study, waking by the clock instead of by sleep stage produced no lucid dreams at all.

The whole path, visible from day one

Eight levels, 46 lessons. Nothing hidden behind a "find out inside".

  • Foundations — what a lucid dream actually is, and what to expect
  • Dream Recall — from "I never remember" to 3+ dreams a week
  • The Journal — writing that actually improves recall
  • Dream Signs & Reality Checks — your patterns, not a generic list
  • MILD — intention and incubation, done correctly
  • WBTB — the timing that changes the odds
  • WILD & SSILD — direct entry, and handling sleep paralysis calmly
  • Stabilize & Control — staying in, and doing something with it

Levels 1–3 are free, forever — that's recall and journaling, a complete skill on its own.

Built on what the research actually found

Lucid dreaming is not a belief. It was verified in a sleep lab in 1981, when dreamers signalled out of REM sleep with pre-agreed eye movements — a message sent from inside a dream.

Roughly 55% of people have had at least one lucid dream. If you've ever known you were dreaming — even for a second — you've already done the hard part once.

The same research points to something you can actually work on: how well you recall dreams in general. That one is measured, and it's trainable — and it is not what the famous advice focuses on. Reality checks are the best-known technique and have some of the weakest evidence behind them; we teach them for what they're good at, and we don't oversell them.

What we won't tell you

That it works every night, or that there's a timeline. In the best-performing study conditions, lucid dreams occurred on about 15–20% of nights. Anyone promising you a lucid dream this week is selling you something. We'd rather you stay a month than quit on day eight.

Your dreams stay yours

Dream journals are the most personal thing a person writes. In this category, the single most common complaint is losing them — apps going quiet, backups failing, years of entries gone.

So here's our commitment: your dreams are never sold, never handed to advertisers, and never sent to analytics. Deleting your account removes them. We don't build a business on your content.

Your dream text is never sent anywhere — not to analytics, not to logs.

  • 60-second morning entry — built for half-asleep
  • Deleting your account removes your dreams, tags and progress
  • Dream text never leaves your account

And if three weeks pass with nothing?

Then you'll get a lesson about exactly that — not a louder reminder. Some people practise for months, do everything right, recall four dreams a night, and still haven't gone lucid. They didn't fail and they didn't do anything wrong.

Online you mostly meet the people it worked for. Someone who practised for three months with no result usually doesn't post about it. The picture is skewed, and knowing that is the difference between adjusting and quitting.

The free levels aren't a teaser. Recall and journaling are the foundation, and they're the part that works on their own.

Is lucid dreaming actually real?

Yes, and it's been experimentally verified since 1981, when dreamers signalled from inside REM sleep using agreed eye movements. Around 55% of people have had at least one.

How long until my first lucid dream?

We won't give you a number, because nobody honestly can. It varies enormously, and some people take months. What we can say is that recall usually improves first, and that's the part you'll notice early.

I never remember my dreams. Is this pointless for me?

That's the normal starting point, and it's exactly what level 2 is for. Almost everyone dreams every night; recall is a separate skill, and it responds to training faster than people expect.

Is it safe?

For most people, yes. The research suggests unpleasant experiences come mostly from failed attempts and from lucid dreams you can't control — sleep paralysis being the most common. Level 7 covers it directly, including what to do in the moment. All of our safety and troubleshooting content is free on every plan, and readable without an account — we're not putting that behind a paywall. If you have a sleep disorder or a psychiatric condition, talk to your doctor first.

Does it cost anything to start?

No, and no card. Levels 1–3 stay free — that's the recall and journaling foundation.

Do I need to create an account?

Not to start. You can do the onboarding and your first lesson without one. You'll want an account before your dreams are worth keeping.

Who can read my dream journal?

Nobody but you. Dream text is never sent to analytics or logs, and deleting your account removes your dreams, tags and progress.

How is this different from a dream journal app?

A journal is a tool. This is a course with a journal inside it. The journal doesn't tell you what to do next — the path does.

Is there an iPhone or Android app?

God-Mode runs in your browser and installs to your home screen like an app — no store, no download, works on both.

Is it available in Hebrew?

Fully — written in Hebrew, right-to-left, not machine-translated.
